Director James Mangold’s new movie Logan was released on March 3, starring Hugh Jackman to play his final role as The Wolverine.

In this R-rated X-Men film, Logan is living in what he believes to be a post-mutant dystopian universe where his focus is on caring for the ill Professor X. However, Logan’s attempts to remain confined from society prove difficult when a young woman and a child come to him looking for help.

This new take on the X-Men franchise delves deeply into Logan’s character, and how although he is a mutant, he is also still human.

“I really enjoyed it because it showed Logan’s character in a different way than we’ve seen him in all other X-Men movies before,” said sophomore Tammy Ngo.

With the frequent ads on television and YouTube displaying the trailer for Logan, anticipation was high surrounding the release of the film.

“I have loved X-Men movies since I was very little, and I was very excited for this one to come out,” said sophomore Alyssa Carson.

With a rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.7 on IMDb, viewers agree “it was worth the wait because it was the perfect conclusion to the series, it was Hugh Jackman’s last time playing as Wolverine,” said Ngo.

If you do decide to go out and watch Logan in theaters, be prepared to experience an emotional rollercoaster.

“I really enjoyed it a lot. It was really deep. After you left the theatre, you still thought about the movie. It stays with you,” said Carson.

For this conclusionary film, there are many heartfelt moments that may leave you and the rest of the audience in tears, but for any X-Men and Wolverine fans out there, it is worth seeing nonetheless.
