The Spirit of Clarksburg, the marching band at CHS, won the 2019 Chapter Championships for Region 5A.
The event took place at Spring Mills HS in West Virginia. The band and their color guard performed their field show titled “Rise of the Phoenix.” With a score of 83.650, they were named champions.
The Spirit of Clarksburg works hard throughout the season to perform at football games and pep rallies for the school, while competing their shows on the weekends.
“All the waiting had been worth the excitement,” said sophomore Peter Winstel, a saxophone player. “Morale was high. The Clarksburg section was the loudest and proudest at the end.”
